Savvy Book Club sends out a loving shout out Author Kenda Norman-Bellamy, for allowing us to team up with B&B Book Club out of Monroe Louisiana ( Presient Sonya Ward) to give her a Book Release Party for "Song of Solomon". We had a spirit filled time. Kenda revealed her inspiration behind her novel. Which just happen to be Mr. Melvin Williams of the Willams Brothers Gopel group. Mr. Williams came to the event himself and she revealed it to him at the party. He was so suprise. Mr. Williams blessed us and sang 3 selections. And since he had a birthday coming in a few days we also suprised him with a birthday cake and gift. He was floored. Hallelujah FM Radio Station covered the event by live remote (Dulaney). We had a house full. With every book purchase Mr. Melvin gave everyone that brought a book one of his Albums. Oh Weeee... Another Blessing. Special thanks to all the book clubs and guests that came out in support of the event. This was Kendra 17th novel.

On Behalf of the Lovely Ladies Of the Savvy Book Club we humbly thank my Home Boy, Author, Journalist and Friend Mr. Bruce Wright. As he came to us with an exceedingly prowerful story in his debut novel "Full Cicrle". We had a fantastic visit with him and great conversation that will be remembered for a very long time. Stories like Bruce's, has impacted many lives. For that we are grateful. Bruce Wright is continued proof that Mississippi has very talented people. Thank You.

On Saturday April 10th Savvy sat down with the Prince of Drama, Mr. Brian W. Smith. If you have read any of his books you would know how he got his title. And to show him how serious we are Savvy Sisters crowned Brian, Prince of Drama, Saturday April 10th at 3:30p.m in Jackson, MS in the Willie Morris Meeting Room. The event was awesome we will remember it for years to come. If you haven't read, "Beater", "Nina Got a Secret", "SWAP Game", Final Fling", Donna's Delima", Donna's Comeback", "Moma's Baby Daddy's Pain" etc., to name a few, you are missing a treat.

On the 14th of this month Savvy sat down with New York Best Selling (ranking 3rd) Authors Viginia DeBerry & Donna Grant. In town promoting their newest masterpiece "UPTOWN" They are true DIVA's. The time we spent with them was wonderful, awesome, great, fantastic. We want to thank them for coming and sharing with us. We will always remember their visit.

Special Shout Out to November's Author. They say "Three is a charm", we have had the pleasure to sittting down with author Sydney Malore` again because her book "Granda Mother's Mojo Still Working" was chosen as Novermber book of the Month. Sydney is no stranger for the Savvy Book Club. As always we had a great time and a good discussion. Sydney's books include newest release "Satisfy Me Tonight", "Satisfy Me Again", "Satisfy Me", " Some Where In America", "Small Packages", "Changing Faces, Changing Places", "Carmel Flavor", "Purple Panties" and over a half doven more. So if you haven't read anything you are missing out on a talented writer. She also has anthrologies. Sydney was chosen as Savvy's Author of the Year 2009.

We take this moment to bid a special thank you to Authoress Tamika Newhouse for coming to the Savvy Book Club by way of San Antonio, Texas. She is the talented author of The Ulitmate No No and newly released The Ulitmate Moments No Regrets. It you haven't had a chance to go out and get a copy you wouldn't want to miss out on either book.

The Savvy Ladies of the Savvy Book Club would like to thank Essence Best Selling Author Victoria Christopher Murray for coming to us as she travel on a 15 city tour promoting her newest release "Lady Jasmine". We had a full house and a wonderful time discussing the many works of Mrs. Murray. We even got to talk with her long time friend, Mrs. Kimberla Lawson Roby by way of a conference call, because the conversation took us to talking about the possibility of the two doing a book together. Other titles by the author include: "Joy", "Temptation", "Sin In Ashame", "Too Little To Late", "Grown Folks Business".

The Savvy Book Club celebrated yet another year of reading, meeting authors and sitting down with other book lovers. We celebrated this year with Author Brian W. Smith. Brian is the author of "SWAP Games", "Final Fling", "Moma's Baby Daddy's Pain", Donna Dilema", and "Nina's Got A Secret". If you haven't read anything of Brian's you are missing out on a treat. We would like to thank Brian for helping us celebrate we have an great time. We must do this again. Congratualtions to Brian he has two books scheduled to be released at the same time this summer. So be look out for that. We would also like to thank Mrs. Carolyn Carter and the Willie Morris Library Staff for their continued support of our Book Club.

We had a wonderful time with her and look forward to meeting with her again.
